London, June 20 (ANI): A 32-stone man on a flight to see his dying aunt was kicked off the plane because he was too fat.

Sandy Russell had just boarded the Air Transat plane from Gatwick to Toronto when a stewardess escorted him off.

The 32-year-old was told he would have to pay for two full-price tickets if he wanted to fly.

Sandy could not see her dying aunt, as he did not have 928 pounds for the fare. His Aunt Judy died of bowel cancer in Canada two days after he was due to see her.

"I was absolutely devastated," Sandy said.

"I hardly cry, and there I was reduced to tears out of frustration and humiliation in the middle of the airport," he added.

Sandy was denied permission to travel because his 52-inch belly was overflowing into the next seat.

Although the passenger next to him didn't complain, the armrest couldn't be lowered for take-off, as demanded by the airline's rules.andy, a resident of Wolverhampton, said he was not told that his size might cause problems.

He said he had passed the check-in and departure gate without any problems, reports News Of The World.

"The worst thing is, my aunt has died now. By the time I got home from the airport, she was too ill to talk on the phone, so I couldn't even say goodbye to her," Sandy said.

"I'm not small, I don't deny it. But that doesn't mean I should be treated so disrespectfully," he added. (ANI)
