Red-faced Railways suspends RRB chairman over scam
New Delhi, Jun 19: After the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) unearthed a massive Railways recruitment scam, Rail Bhavan suspended the chairman, Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), Mumbai, SM Sharma, whose son was one among the eight arrested for leaking question papers.
The CBI on Friday, Jun 19 said that it has unearthed a multi-crore Railway recruitment scam pertaining to the examinations of Assistant Loco Pilot and Assistant Station Master. The investigative agency said that the scam had been running in connivance with the officials of RRB.
Besides placing Sharma on suspension, the Railways vowed not to spare anyone who was found guilty. The Ministry of Railways also promised CID of complete cooperation from the Railway Board over exposing the scam.
