Rains trigger landslide in Ratnagiri, 10 killed
Mumbai, Jun 19: A landslide triggered by heavy rains killed as many as ten people in the Maharashtra's Ratnagiri district early Saturday, Jun 19 morning.
The mishap took place at around 2 am in Harne village of the coastal district. Rescue operations are underway.
Rescue personnel have, so far, recovered four bodies. The incessant rains are proving to be a tough hurdle for the rescue operations.
Two houses at the village in Dapoli tehsil were also severely damaged in the landslide.
Maharashtra has been receiving heavy rains over the past week. As many as 46 people have died in the rains so far in the state.
