Maharashtra govt blocks Facebook in Mantralaya
Mumbai, Jun 18: On receiving complaints that the employees are spending too much time on Facebook, the Maharashtra government has blocked access to the popular social networking site in Mantralaya.
"We decided to block the site as many employees were seen spending hours on it," a senior Mantralaya official told Times of India.
The newspaper report stated that the complaints came from the IT department.
The restrictions on the social networking site has not gone in well with the employees, who insist that work was not hampered.
"The administration has wrong impression that work is getting affected due to Facebook. We log on to the site only during the lunch break or in case if there is less workload on a particular day," an employee is quoted as saying in the Friday, Jun 18 report.
