China urges US to end arms sales to Taiwan
Beijing, June 18 (ANI): China has urged the United States to honor its commitments and stop selling arms to Taiwan.
"China has maintained a clear and persistent stance on opposing US arms sales to Taiwan. The US stance undermines China's core interests," The Xinhua quoted Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang, as saying.
Earlier on Wednesday, US Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Dianne Feinstein said that US arms sales to Taiwan were hurting closer ties with China.
China reduced its military exchanges with the United States following the Pentagon's decision in January to sell an arms package worth about dollar 6.4 billion to Taiwan, including Patriot missiles, Black Hawk helicopters and minesweepers. (ANI)
