China, Pakistan pledge to deepen defence ties

New Delhi, June 18 (ANI): China and Pakistan have pledged to deepen bilateral cooperation in defence security and work towards promoting bilateral strategic cooperation.

Top Chinese legislator Wu Bangguo, who met Pakistan's Chief of Army Staff, General Asfaq Pervez Kayani, said the two countries would work together to deepen bilateral cooperation in defense security and other sectors.

"China would work with Pakistan to promote a strategic cooperative partnership between the two neighbours," he added.

"Hailing the good-neighborly friendship between the two nations, Wu said the bilateral all-weather friendship and all-round cooperation accorded with the fundamental interests of the two peoples and played an important role in safeguarding regional peace and promoting common development," the Xinhua reported from Beijing.

General Kayani, currently on an official visit to China, said Pakistan is looking forward to seek stronger relations with China. (ANI)
