Israel increases chance for war: Syrian Prez
Damascus, Jun 17: Bashar al-Assad, Syrian President said that the actions of Israel have increased the chances for war in the Middle East. He was talking in an interview for BBC.
Bashar al-Assad mentioned Israeli government as 'pyromaniac'. He said that Syrian government is trying to prevent war, though there is less scope to broker a peace deal with the present regime in Tel Aviv.
When asked about the accusations from US, UK and Israel that Syria is arming Lebanon's Hezbollah with advanced and accurate weapons, Syrian President categorically rejected the claims.
Bashar also made it clear that Syria will continue to have a rapport with Iran, though it remains interested in keeping up good relations with United States.
