Prachanda claims he was forced to resign
Kathmandu, June 15 (ANI): UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal alias Prachanda has claimed that he was forced to resign from the post of prime minister.
According to him he was forced to resign because he tried to find out the whereabouts of the people who forcibly disappeared during the decade long insurgency.
Speaking at a program here on Monday, Prachanda said that the Maoist led government had initiated process to find out the position and whereabouts of the disappeared people but they did not succeed.
Nepalnews quoted Prachanda as, saying that he wanted to bring to book those responsible for forcibly disappearing the people and also democratize the Nepal Army. These tasks were incomplete as he was forced to resign.
He also criticized the government for not doing enough to quell the instances of killing, violence and other security related problems in the country.
He also blamed the present government for promoting violence in the country by not taking action against those working against republicanism, federalism and secularism.n the three-point deal that was clinched on May 28, Prachanda expressed dissatisfaction saying the other parties had cheated the Maoists.
"This is nothing but the struggle between the progressive and regressive forces. The parties in the ruling coalition are against change," he said.
"People will run out of patience some day if the ruling partners continue to ignore their aspirations," he added, Nepalnews reports. (ANI)
