WB train derailment case: PCPA activist arrested
Jhargram, Jun 15: Hiralal Mahato, a PCPA activist was arrested by CBI in connected with the Jnaneswari Express derailment on Monday, Jun 14.
Hiralal Mahato, the resident of Rasua village near Sardiha, is an activist of the Maoist-backed People's Committee Against Police Atrocities (PCPA). Hiralal's will be the third arrest in the derailment case. This will be the first arrest by the Central Bureau of Investigation, after taking over the case from the Criminal Investigation Department of the state police on Jun 10.
Hiralal was arrested from Rusua village near Jhargram in West Midnapore district, informed a police official.
He was produced in the additional chief judicial magistrate's court on Tuesday, Jun 15. The train derailment in West Bengal killed around 148 people on May 28.
