10 Maoists killed in Jharkhand encounter: Police

Chaibasa, Jun 14: Ten Maoists were killed during the clashes in Singhbhum, the west of Jharkhand on Sunday, Jun 13. Six security personnel got injured, informed the senior police officer.

Akhilesh Jha, West Singhbum Supenintendent of Police, said that about a dozen Maoists were hit and killed by the security forces. A cache of arms have been recovered from the naxals.

Jha informed that no body has been recovered yet. The encounter lasted for 24 hours in Bandgaon where the security personnel where one CRPF jawan got killed and several others got injured.

He said that a camp of Maoists was demolished during the operation, in which 20 claymore bombs were seized and destroyed.

The injured security personnel were admitted the hospital in Ranchi.

The Maoists group included the self-styled Maoist area commander 'KP' and his comrades, Anmol and Animesh during the encounter.
