Brown has left his permanent mark in Downing Street
London, June 13 (ANI): Former British Prime Minister Gordon Brown is alleged to have caused permanent damage at 10 Downing Street. rown has been accused of more inadvertent vandalism.
When incumbent David Cameron and his aides entered 10 Downing Street, they were concerned to discover deep grooves in an antique mahogany table in a panelled, ground-floor office.
Such was the extent of the damage that an inquiry was held into who, or what, could have caused it.According to The Telegraph, it was discovered that Brown often used it while going through late night government correspondence.
The table, which comfortably seats six people, is where Brown often sat alone late at night, armed with a black marker pen, while reading Government papers and other correspondence. Whenever he read something that annoyed him, he apparently scrawled viciously on the document - so frantically that the table has been badly marked down one side.
The damage to the table is so severe that cleaning staff have been unable to remove the marks despite frantic polishing.
With Britain facing six billion pounds of spending cuts, it has been deemed inappropriate to have the table repaired. (ANI)
