Muniyappa expresses concern over Naxalite attacks on trains
Lucknow, June 10 (ANI): Minister of State for Railways K.H Muniyappa here on Thursday expressed concern about the Naxalite attacks on trains and safety of passengers.
Muniyappa said that he along with his officials held a discussion on the issue with the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today.
"Already two-three meetings and discussion is over, we are very much concerned about the issue, we have to sort out the issue, honourable chief Minister took out a meeting with my officers and madam Mamta discussed this matter and we are very much concerned about the safety and the passengers who are travelling in the train. On this purpose we are keen and very much interested to sort out the problem," said K.H Muniyappa, Minister of State for Railways.
The minister said 16 crore rupees have been sanctioned for upgrading Lucknow platform and 25 crores for the yard remodelling project.
He informed work is underway to develop the platforms to international standards. (ANI)
