Malaysian party planning voter's registration for Malaysian Indians
Kuala Lumpur, 10 June (ANI): The Democratic Action Party of Malaysia is planning to register around 55,000 Malaysian Indians living in the country in the voter's list.
Sungkai State assemblyman, A. Sivanesan said that political parties were previously not allowed to conduct voter registration but now with the approval of the Election Commission (EC), more voters were being registered by political parties.
He said that according to comission's statistics of 2009, the number of non-registered people in Perak has come down to 547,000 from the earlier figure of 579,000.
Though, according to EC, at least four million Malaysians have still not registered themselves, he added. (ANI)
