India signs MoUs with Czech Republic, seek help for combating terrorism

Prague (Czech Republic), June 9 (ANI): India signed three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Czech Republic here on Tuesday.

There primarily pertain to economic cooperation and social security between both nations.

India's Junior Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Sachin Pilot, and the Czech Minister for Labour and Social Affairs, Peter Simerka, signed these pacts.

The first agreement was signed to enhance cooperation in economic matters, while the second related to social security of Indian professionals working in the Czech Republic.he third agreement was an extension of a 1996 protocol signed between both nations for promotion and protection of bilateral investments.

Vice President Hamid Ansari also sought the help of the Czech Republic in combating terrorism.

Ansari told Czech Prime Minister Jan Fischer of India's concerns about the growing threat of terrorism.

He also said their economic engagement between both countries should be intensified for the mutual benefit of their peoples.

He said India has attempted inclusive economic growth within the framework of a parliamentary democracy so that all sections and groups have a stake in the growing prosperity of the nation. (ANI)
