Flight services delayed at Mumbai airport

Mumbai, Jun 9: The main runway in Mumbai airport closed due to the water-logging at terminal 1-C and powercut. The flight services at Mumbai airport got disrupted on Wednesday, Jun 9.

The flights were delayed for more than an hour as the main runway closed, informed the airport officials.

The runway 09X27 was closed for 50 minutes, from 08:10 am to 09:00 am, to clear the glass pieces of runway edge light which got broken by a departing aircraft. The water-logging and powercut worsened the situation which led to the congestion at the airport.

“Due to the closure, there was a long queue of aircraft at the runway awaiting clearance from the ATC," source said.
