Department
(CID)
in
connection
with
the
May
28
Jhargram
train
attack.
Mahato who was arrested on Tuesday, Jun 8 will be produced in a court later in the day.
In the attack on the Mumbai-bound Gyaneshwari Express, at least 148 people were killed and over 200 injured as 13 coaches of the train derailed near Jhargram.
Four suspected members of the PCPA have already been arrested in connection with the attack. In a joint operation, West Bengal Police and commandos of the elite special action force (SAF), arrested Manoranjan Mahto, Rakal Barik, Rabindra Mahto and Bhonomali Mahato.
Speaking on the attack, the Home Minister, P Chidambaram had pointed fingers at CPI-Maoists and a front organization for the CPI-Maoists, such as the PCPA.
PCPA has a history of launching attacks on trains. In the past, it was involved in Kolkata-Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express hijack.
