Gordon Brown 'signed pay cut for his successor at Downing Street'
London, June 6 (ANI): In his final days as the British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown deprived David Cameron of hundreds of thousands of pounds - the Labour politician accepted a pay cut for his successor at 10 Downing Street.
On Brown's orders, the Prime Minister's remuneration package was cut from 194,000pounds to 150,000pounds, but this was done secretly without any formal announcement.
This means in a five-year parliament personal loss to Cameron will be more than 250,000pounds and this after skipping the pension benefits.
"This was pure Gordon," the Telegraph quoted a source as saying.
The insider added: "Quite prepared to make the big sacrifices - so long as it wasn't him who actually had to make them." (ANI)
