New Delhi/Mumbai, June 5 (ANI): The National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) Foundation organised a 'CEO Volunteer Day' here on Saturday on the occasion of World Environment Day, where leaders from the IT industry planted saplings with under privileged children of Don Bosco Night Shelter Home for Boys.

"This event is organised by NASSCOM and people from the IT industry have taken part in this. I am very happy because we are teaching children to preserve the environment, to reduce pollution, to stop littering and stop use of plastics," said Sudip Nandy, CEO of Aricent.

"This is good for the future and for us, too. This is a great event and there should be more such events," he added.

Meanwhile in Mumbai, an NGO named United Way Mumbai organised a cleanliness drive on Juhu beach that was attended by corporate employees of the city.

"This is our little effort, our little contribution as citizens of the city and as Standard Chartered Bank, as corporate citizens of the city. It's our little drive towards a clean Mumbai," said Rajshree, an employee of Standard Chartered Bank.

World environment day is celebrated across the world to spread awareness about environment and motivate political and civilian action towards the issue. (ANI)
