Security forces seize solar missiles in Kashmir
Kupwara (J-K), June 3 (ANI): Security forces have seized solar missiles in the Kashmir Valley.
A squad of Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir Police spotted these solar missiles, positioned for an offensive action in Gujjarpati forest area of Kupwara district.
Reportedly, suspected militants brought these missiles from a hideout.
"During operation we have recovered two missiles of latest technology which works on solar technology," said Sajad Arshid, Station House Officer, Sogam Police Station.
"In Gujjarpati forest area, militants of Lashkar-e-Taiba had fixed two solar missiles of new type to launch attack on army installations. We first defused the missiles with the help of the bomb disposal squad and after that we had seized the missiles. We have registered a case," Muhammad Yousuf, Superintendent of Police, Kupwara District.
Experts believe that these projectiles could have been used to carry out a major terror strike in the area. (ANI)
