Fergie's Oprah appearance leads to US backlash

London, June 3 (ANI): Sarah Ferguson is facing an American backlash after her recent appearance on Oprah Winfrey where she said she was just trying to raise money for a friend and was drunk when a British tabloid caught her selling access to ex hubby Prince Andrew, Britain's Trade envoy.

The New York Times TV reviewer took a shot at the Duchess of York, 50, for what she called the "ritual of repentance and renewal that these celebrity makeovers require."

Her evasive answers at Opera seem to have irritated many of the viewers.

"If you watch the interview you will see how many times she goes back on what she says! I did not feel that she was sincere and I felt that she was on a mission to save her public identity and the proceeds that come from such!" the Telegraph quoted a woman, as writing online.

Many others believe Fergie's was trying to promote her book business through the show. (ANI)
