Cyclone Phet shows signs of weakening
Ahmedabad, June 3: Cyclone Phet who was fast gaining momentum in the Arabian Sea is about 1100 km away from Nalia in Kutch and is showing signs of weakening as coastal areas of Gujarat received light to medium rainfall under its influence, Indian Meteorological Department officials said on Thursday, June 3.
According to the reports by IMD cyclone has moved slightly towards the coast of Oman and "due to proximity to the land surface (near Oman), the system is showing sign of weakening," the officials of the Metrological department said.
The winds would blow at speeds of 40-50 kmph reaching to a maximum of 60 kmph along and off Gujarat coast during same period.
Sea condition would remain volatile around Gujarat coast and adjoining north Arabian Sea. Fishermen had been advised not to go in the sea in the next couple of days.
Warnings have been put across all ports in the state, the department stated.
