Sarah Ferguson was drinking during tabloid sting

Melbourne, June 1 (ANI): Disgraced Sarah Ferguson claims to have been under the influence of alcohol when she was caught red handed demanding cash for access to her former husband Prince Andrew, Britain's trade envoy.

A sting operation by British tabloid the News of the World recently caught the Duchess of York setting a price tag of 500,000 pounds on an introduction to Prince Andrew, promising to open the door to lucrative international deals for the 'client'.

But appearing on Oprah Winfrey's show Fergie, 50, said she was drinking when she got caught in the undercover sting.he told Oprah that she was "in the gutter" and "not in the right place".

Fergie also said she had not watched the entire sting video that the tabloid posted online and was aired on TV news networks across the world.

"I - in the last four days I've been travelling through airports so I've seen it," News.com.au quoted her, as telling Oprah.

Fergie added: "But I haven't actually sat down and watched it. I haven't faced the devil in the face. Because I was in the gutter at that moment.

"So I'm aware of the fact that I've been drinking, you know, that I was not in my right place." (ANI)
