Jagan Reddy permitted to continue with yatra

New Delhi, June 1: Congress high command has softened its stance on the ongoing yatra by Jagan Mohan reddy son of former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh YSR Reddy which got into controversy after telangana supporters protested against his yatra.

Reddy met with senior Congress leader Veerappa Moily in command Delhi on Tuesday, June 1 morning. Veerappa Moily is in the charge of Congress affairs in Andhra Pradesh.

Reddy claimed that Moily expressed satisfaction and appreciated him for his tour and permitted him to continue with the tour. According to Congress sources the permission comes with some basic guidelines which includes distancing himself from the politically-sensitive Telangana region.

Meanwhile Congress was worried about the repercussions of the tour in the volatile atmosphere of Telangana, where the demand for a separate state is getting violent day by day.

Last week when he arrived at the Warangal district, pro-Telangana campaigners clashed with the police as they expressed their opposition to Jagan's arrival.

Jaganmohan said he will resume his yatra on June 8 with a trip to Srikakulam in Coastal Andhra Pradesh . He is planning to tour Telangana after andhra by-elections.
