Mkts ended with heavy loss
Munbai, June1: At 16:30 hrs The Nifty closed at 4970, down 116 points and the Sensex was at 16544, down 400 points the benchmark Nifty snapped four-day winning streak and closed below psychological 5000 mark.
The sell-off across global markets and fall in commodities along with currencies hammered the Sensex to shed nearly 400 points.
All sectoral indices witnessed selling pressure; the metal saw huge profit booking, down 4%. Realty, Bank and Oil & Gas indices declined 2.5-3.3%.
