Sri Sri Ravi Shankar escapes bid on life

Bangalore: According to local media reports, an attempt on the life of spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar was made on Sunday 30 May, 2010 night in Bangalore. It happened in the premises of his ashram in Kanakpura Road, Bangalore.

The assaulter missed the target, but one devotee by name Vinay was injured on the thigh.

Police told that it was an assassination bid on the Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravishankar. Sri Sri was coming out of an auditorium after satsang (Q and A Session). He got into a car, and the car moved. It was then the unidentified gunmen fired at the spiritual guru's car.

Police told that the miscreant used a .22 revolver. But police couldn't trace the assaulter or the weapon till late night.
