30 dead in Karnataka bus mishap
Chitradurga (Karnataka), May 30 (ANI): At least 30 people were burnt to death and over 28 others injured in an appalling accident, when the bus in which they were travelling, collided with a diesel oil tanker in Karnataka's Chitradurga District on Sunday morning.
It has been reported that there were around 64 passengers travelling in the bus that was going from Surapara to Bangalore.
The bus caught fire after colliding with a diesel tanker and burst into flames at around 3: 30 a.m.
The injured have been rushed to the local Challakere Hospital.
There are further reports that those, who have suffered major burn injuries, are being shifted to other hospitals for better treatment.
Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2.5 lakh to the families of the deceased. (ANI)
