SER to cancel two train and divert five
Kolkata, May 28: South Eastern Railways cancelled two trains- Howrah-Brabil Janshatabdi Express and Howrah-Jamshedpur Ispat Express, on Friday, May 28 after the tragedy of Mumbai-bound train in West Midnapore district.
The two trains have been cancelled as trains were not running between Howrah-Tatanagar after the Howrah-Kurla Gyaneswari Express derailed after a blast and was hit by a goods train coming from the opposite direction on the down tracks. Around 35 dead and 110 injured in the mishap. The rescue works are going on, as passengers in three coaches got trapped. Indian Airforce Helicopters are also helping for the rescue operations.
Five trains including the Hapa-Howrah Express, Azad Hind Express, Koraput-Howrah Express, Ranchi Hatia Express and the Mumbai Mail via Nagpur were being diverted.
The railways may also stop night trains. A special train that has been arranged to carrying the relatives of accident victimswould leave Howrah station left around 8:20 am to the accident spot.
