Mangalore, May 28 (ANI): Family members of Yuganthar Rana, who was a flight attendant of the ill-fated Air India Express aircraft that crashed in Mangalore, performed his final rites on Thursday.
The family members and other friends paid floral tributes to the mortal remains of Yugunthar.
They decided to perform the last rites in the city and take his ashes to their native place in the Darjeeling.
Son of late C D Rana, a school headmaster, Yugunthar was the sole bread earner of the family.
"He was with us for one and a half years as an Airline Attendant. We pray that the almighty will grant him eternal rest," said Sunil Kishan, Regional Director, Air India, Karnataka.
The Air India Boeing 737-800, carrying 160 passengers and a crew of six, overshot a runway and crashed into flames on landing at Mangalore airport. 158 persons were killed and there were only eight survivors on the flight coming from Dubai.
