Mamta suspects Maoists hand in derailment

Jhargram,West Bengal ,May 28: The train derailment caused to the Mumbai bound Howarh -Kurla express train was a case of bomb blast according to the Union railway Minister Mamta Banerjee.

Talking to reporter after the incident the Railway Minister Said, “It is a bomb blast case. After the blast, the train derailed and the accident happened. According to information given by Railway Police Force and officials TNT and Gelatine sticks were found at the accident,".

The derailment in Howarh- Kurla Express caused the death of 65 people and Injuring 200 people .

Ms. Banerjee, who rushed to spot from Kolkata was asked specifically if Maoists were responsible, she said that because of the "bomb blast" people had impression that it done by the Maoists. “Let the rescue operations be over. After that we will get a report." She however said the timing and the manner in which the attack were carried signals a Maoists hand in it.

She said that the family of each of the dead would be paid Rs 5 lakh and injured Rs 1 lakh. She also assured to provide employment through railways to a member of family of dead.

The Railway Minister also demanded a high level inquiry from the Home Ministry. “I will write a letter to the Union Home Minister for a separate investigation."

She was also seen passing the buck by putting the whole blame to State Government as she said that Union is running the railway in coordination with the Sate Government and also that Law and order is a state subject.
