Hamid Ansari expresses grief over West Bengal railway mishap

New Delhi, May 28 (ANI): Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari has expressed deep grief and shock at the tragic loss of life and injuries to passengers resulting from the derailment of the Mumbai bound Howrah-Kurla Lokmanya Tilak Gyaneshwari Super Deluxe Express in West Bengal on Friday morning.

"I am deeply grieved and shocked at the tragic loss of life and injuries to passengers resulting from the derailment of the Howrah-Kurla Lokmanya Tilak Gyaneshwari Super Deluxe Express that took place in West Bengal early morning today," said Vice President in his message.

"I join all citizens in sending condolences to the members of the bereaved families and praying to the Almighty to grant them the strength to withstand this immense loss. I also wish speedy recovery to the injured passengers," he added.

Thirteen bogies of the ill-fated express train were derailed near Jhargram in West Bengal's West Midnapore District at 1.30 am following several blasts suspected to have been triggered by the Maoists.nion Home Secretary G K Pillai has confirmed the death of 65 people, saying the toll might go up.
