Pratibha Patil meets Chinese Premier Wen
Beijing, May 27: Pratibha Patil visited Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao on Thursday, May 27 and discussed the bilateral issues of both nations. Wen described her friendly visit very 'significant' as it coincided with the 60th year of the establishment of Sino-India diplomatic ties.
Wen welcomed patil warmly at Purple Light Pavilion.
"It is a great pleasure to have you here. Let me welcome you to China. You are the first (Indian) President to visit in a decade," said Wen, on meeting her.
Wen said that Patil's plans to inaugurate Indian-style Buddhist temple in Loyang of Central China, is yet another effort to promote both the nation's friendly rapports. He said that he would discuss all bilateral issues of mutual interest with Patil.
The issuance of stapled visas to Kashmiris by China and Beijing's support for India's bid for a permanent seat in the UNSC are expected to be discussed in their meeting.
