Rathore pleads bail, files petition

Chandigarh, May 26: S P S Rathore, the Haryna ex-DGP, sentenced to the imprisonment of 18 months for Ruchika molestation case filed a review petition in Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday, May 26 and sought bail.

The review petition was filed by Rathore's wife Abha Rathore, on his behalf in the court of Justice S S Saron. She claimed that the appellate court passed the order on Tuesday, May 25 under 'media pressure'.

The 68-years-old Rathore was sent to jail after a sessions court enhanced an imprisonment term of 18 months for molesting Ruchika, the tennis player who commited suicide later, before 20 years.

Ms Abha Rathore also sought to apprise the court about the heart ailment her husband is suffering from, while seeking the bail.

The judge will hear the petition later.
