Rathore's bail plea hearing extended till May 28
Chandigarh, May 26: Disgraced and dejected ex-Haryana DGP S.P.S. Rathore on Wednesday May 26 suffered another blow when he failed to get any immediate relief when the Punjab and Haryana High Court adjourned his bail plea hearing till Friday in the Ruchika molestation case.
Following the court adjournment, 68-year-old Rathore will effectively spend at least another two nights in Burail jail where he has been lodged since last evening.
Meanwhile, earlier today Rathore filed a review petition before the High Court soughting bail on medical grounds through his lawyer and wife Abha Rathore.
When the petition came up in the court of Justice Singh in the afternoon, Abha Rathore pleaded that the matter be taken up by the Court on Thursday but the Judge posted it for Friday.
The fate of Rathore"s bail plea will depend on the decision of the High Court to take up the matter early. The Court closes for summer vacation from May 29 for one month.
