Boeing to send team for Investigation
Chicago/Mumbai, May 22: Aircraft Major Boeing whose aircraft which belonged to Air India which crashed while landing in Mangalore is sending a Investigation team to India to provide technical assistance in the investigation of the crash.
The aircraft belonged to the latest range of aircraft's being rolled out by Boeing which got crashed. Expressing the condolences over the incident the Boeing team said,“Boeing wishes to express its profound condolences to the friends and family of those lost on Air India Express Flight IX—812, as well as its wish for the recovery of those injured,". Boeing India President Dinesh Keskar assured , “We will do whatever the government asks us to do,".
According to aviation officials, the aircraft overshot the runway, hit a fence and went beyond the boundary wall of the airport and fell into a cliff. Also one of the wings came out from the plane at time landing.
The ill-fated Boeing 737-800, which was inducted on January 15, 2008, was coming from Dubai.
The crash occurred at around 6.30 am when the plane overshot the newly built runway while landing at the Mangalore airport and caught fire before exploding. The plane broke and smoke follow from the fuselage.
