A man supplying explosives to Maoists arrested
Lucknow, May21: A man suspected of transferring explosives to Maoists has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh.
Ashok Kumar got arrested on Thursday, May 20, evening from Langdra area in Sonbhadra district, with a number of detonators and gelatin rods. Police also caught the commonly used commercial explosive, ammonium nitrate.
"The man is making contradictory statements about the explosives recovered from his possession. We cannot rule out the possibility of Kumar's involvement in supplying of explosives to Maoists," said Ms Shukla, Police Inspector in Sonbhadra.
Police said tha they could seize more than 50 kg of ammonium nitrate, 25 detonators and 25 gelatin rods from this person.
Sonbhadra district is around 300 km from Lucknow.
