Japanese tourist gang-rape: Verdict on May 17
Gaya, May 17: The verdict of Japanese tourist gang rape, in which a Japanese tourist was gang-raped by five people on Apr 16, will be delivered on May 17, by District and Sessions Judge J K Sen. The incident took place Amwan village.
The trial which began on Apr 22, within six days after the incident, went for a speedy trial for quick justice on Saturday May 15.
The much-sensationalized case accused including an auto driver were also being charged of theft charges as they also relieved the Japanese tourist of her travel documents including the passport and other valuables. The police claimed that they could also recover the money belonging to the lady though her passport has not been found out yet.
The main accused included in the case, Lotan and Rajan are still abscounding where as the three other accused were put on trial for gang rape, punishable with life imprisonment under Section 376 (G).
