Bhattacharjee lashes out at Trinamool Congress for Maoist links

Kolkata, May 17 (ANI): West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee has lashed out at the Trinamool Congress party for, what he alleged, forming a "rainbow alliance" with the Maoist groups.

Talking to reporters here on Sunday, he said: "There is an alliance, rainbow alliance, all extreme rightist forces have come together. Maoists are saying that they want to bring the Trinamool Congress (TMC) to power. Is it a simple thing. You will have to understand the underlying meaning of it."

He also rubbished TMC chief Mamta Banerjee's statement that there were no Maoists in West Bengal.

"On the eve of the polls they (Trinamool Congress) are saying that there are no Maoists in the state. They want to prepare a support base of the Maoists. They are associated with the Maoists," Bhattacharjee said.

Bhattacharjee also said that the 'Left Front' communist alliance would win the upcoming Kolkata Municipal Corporation polls due to be held on May 30. (ANI)
