Ahmedabad, May 16: In strange turn of events, Praveen Togadia, suspect in the Godhra riots case, has filed a complaint against Zakia Jafri, widow of slain Congress MP Ehsan Jaffery, and her son Tanvir, seeking their immediate arrest.
In his counter complain Togadia has demanded the immediate arrest of Zakia and her son Tanvir for filing false allegation against him.
Togadia said that as oppose to the allegation filed against him, he had never met or talked with duo that could lead them to accuse him of threatening them.
on May 15, Zakia and Tanvir handed over complain to state DGP, stating that Togadia had made an intimidating remark against them after he was deposed before the Special Investigation team (SIT) on May 10.
Togadia had earlier told reporters that he would take "appropriate action" against Zakia Jafri and Teesta Setalvad, who had filed petitions in the Supreme Court seeking justice for victims of post Godhra 2002 riots in the state.
"I want the police to launch a proper investigation and arrest the two because they have been making wrong allegations and filing false complaints against Hindu community," the VHP leader said.
