Father sets 4-month-old daughter on fire

Rourleka, May 16: A father allegedly set his four- month-old daughter following an altercation with his wife at Hottin village, about 100 km from Rourkela, police said.

According to police, the accused, Fakir Patra came to meet his wife, Jema, who was living with her parents, due to constant altercation at home.

As usual Patra picked up a fight with Jema following which he took their daughter to an isolated forest area near Khandadhar, poured kerosene on her body and set her on fire, police said.

The body was recovered on Saturday, May 15 and the accused has been arrested, they said.
