J'khand: Husband stitches wife's private parts
Ranchi, May 15: In a ghastly incident of domestic violence, a husband stitched his wife's private parts with iron wire just for the crime of wanting to visit her parents.
The incident took place on Wednesday, May 12 when the woman, Sabitri, requested her husband to let her visit her parents. Angered by this, the husband, identified as Sannimar Munda, accused his wife of having an extramarital affair leading to a heated fight between the couple.
The altercation took a serious turn when Munda decided to tie his wife's hands and legs and stitch her private parts with iron wire.
After this, the man locked up his 21-year-old wife in the room. Sabitri, however, managed to escape on Thursday, May 13 and reach her parents' home.
The parents, who lodged a police complaint against Munda, took their daughter to Patliputra Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) in Dhanbad.
The woman has undergone an operation and is currently battling for her life.
"In my medical career of more than 30 years, I have not seen such a ghastly act," Pratibha Roy, a doctor who operated on Sabitri, told a news agency.
The police on Friday, May 14 said that the Munda is absconding and a search is on.
