Pilots safe after aircraft's emergency landing in Gujarat
Ahmedabad (Gujarat), May 14 (ANI): A trainer aircraft with two persons on board made an emergency landing in a field on the outskirts of Gujarat's Ahmedabad city on Friday following a technical snag in the engine.
Captain Naresh Devjani and trainee pilot Gayatri Sardeshpande were reportedly safe after the landing.
The plane, Cessna-152, of the Aviation Training Institute Authority, made an emergency landing at Chainpur village after flying 15 nautical miles from the city airport for a training session.
"It had developed some technical problem due to which it could not have been flown back to the airport. The pilots landed it at a safe place. Nobody has been injured," said Colonel V. K. Nagar, an official of the Authority.
"They landed the aircraft safely at a place, which was not populated, in an open field and there is no obstruction. They have done a good job," he added.
The front wheel and the fan of the aircraft were damaged due to the impact of the landing on a patchy surface. (ANI)
