Khushboo joins politics

Chennai, May 14: Popular south Indian actress Khushboo is set on to join the Tamil Nadu ruling party, DMK.

Khushboo had met Kanimozhi, the Member of Parliament and daughter of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Karunanidhi. She will meet the CM soon, before joining the party.

Khushboo, who is very close to Jaya TV network, is presently hosting a popular show on the channel. She will give up the show to take over the new role, if required.

She had expressed her wish to join politics, after the Supreme Court judgment about her controversial remarks on the premarital sex.

"I am silently involved in lot of social work including in the areas of HIV/AIDS, transgenders and cancer. But being in politics gives a larger platform and to work better," Khushboo had said.
