China school incident, aftermath of an argument

Nanzheng, May 13: The brutal stabbings at the kindergarten was done by a Chinese man, following a confrontation about the school lease with the owner of the kindergarten, says the witnesses.

He stabbed seven school children, the owner of the kindergarten and her mother to death, after the heated argument, says the villagers in north China's Shaanxi province.

Wu Huanming, the accused was holding a knife up in the right hand, says the neighbours. He was shouting though no body heard as it was raining and a few neighbours had to retreat back into their homes, reports Li Yufen, a resident of rural Linchang.

"The killer walked straight past me, he glanced at me but walked on and I closed the door and stayed inside," says Li Yufen.

The man who is the owner of the two-storeyed building wanted the owner of the kindergarten to vacate the building as the lease period ended in April.

But the kindergarten was not ready for this until summer, which later lead to a confrontation and the incident.

Wu Huanming stabbed the children, Wu Hongying and her 80-year old mother, using a meat cleaver. After the attack, he returned home.

The string of attacks on school children compels the government to take more actions to strengthen the protective measures.
