Reliance Power may shift plant to AP: Report
New Delhi, May 13: Quoting unnamed sources, a leading business daily has reported that Reliance Power Limited, part of Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG), is mulling the possibility of shifting its proposed gas-based power plant to coastal Andhra Pradesh in a bid to cut costs.
"Since land is still an issue at Dadri and there is some litigation, we have to look at alternative sites and keep costs in mind," The Economic Times quoted an official as saying.
The planned 7,480 megawatt plant was excepted to be established at Dadri in Uttar Pradesh.
By moving the plant to Andhra Pradesh, the company would be saving money by buying fuel in the gas-producing state, the newspaper noted.
Reliance Power has not confirmed the report.
