LinkedIn India bolsters leadership team

Bangalore, May 13: Aiming at bolstering its presence in India, LinkedIn, the world's largest online professional network, has appointed new heads for Marketing and Hiring Solutions.

In a statement released on thursday, May 13, LinkedIn India announced that Sandeep Suvarna has been appointed as Head of Marketing and Irfan Abdulla as Head of Hiring Solutions.

Suvarna, who brings with him five years of experience in the fields of marketing and sales, has working with big names such as Yahoo, MySpace and NetworkPlay.

As head of maketing for LinkedIn India, Suvarna will aim at raising awareness and usage of LinkedIn"s solutions, features and products for members, advertisers and recruiters, the statement said.

As head of Hiring Solutions, Abdullah, who joins LinkedIn from Hewitt Associates, will be focusing on developing the market for LinkedIn"s suite of Hiring solutions products, which are being successfully used by organizations and recruiters across the world.

Commenting on the appointments and the focus on developing the network's reach and user-base in India, Hari V Krishnan, country manager of LinkedIn India, said, “As we increase our focus on localized member engagement, our core team of dynamic and experienced business heads will develop local programs to increase member adoption in India through LinkedIn"s suite of products and solutions."

LinkedIn has more than 65 million members globally, of which over five million are in India.
