Jairam Ramesh launches damage control, meets PC
New Delhi, May 12: After inviting the wrath of the Prime Minister for his remarks on India's China policy, Environment Minister, Jairam Ramesh seems to be on the damage control mode as he met the Home Minister P Chidambaram on Wednesday, May 12.
While he was in Beijing last week, the minister had made a scathing statement against the Home Ministry by opining that the ministry had an overly defensive and had alamist attitude against China.
The statement prompted PM Manmohan Singh to rebuke the Environment Minister and advise him against commenting on other ministries.
Just days after that, Mr Ramesh met the Home Minister and held talks for 15 minutes. He, however, refused to speak to the media following the meeting.
