Bill Gates to visit Amethi with Rahul Gandhi

Lucknow, May 11: Amethi will play host to Microsoft chief Bill Gates on Tuesday, May 11, as Gates is scheduled to join Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi on a visit to his parliamentary constituency, Amethi, in Uttar Pradesh.

According to party sources said that visit was kept as a closely guarded secret until late Monday, May 10, evening.

Even top state Congress leaders were kept in the dark about the visit as Gandhi wanted the matter to be quiet affair.

It has been said that the Gandhi is planning to take Gates to the same village which has been earlier visted by the former with British Foreign Secretary David Miliband. Gandhi and Miliband had spent the night in the hut of a Dalit family.

As per inputs the Congress leader is believed to have arranged an interaction between Gates and women self-help groups, which was formed by him formed.

After taking a flight from New Delhi to Fursatganj, the Congress leader along with Gates is expected drive down to Amethi around 10 am.
