The judicial custody of Halappa, who was arrested on Sunday, May 9, has been extened till May 24.
The former minister has charged with rape, intimidation, unlawful restraint and confinement after Chandravathi filed a complaint under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) .
Halappa resigned from his post as the minister of Food and Civil Supplies following the publication of an article by newspaper which claimed that he had raped Chandravathi, wife of Venkatesh Mury, four months ago.
