Russia: Suicide bomber attacks military base
Moscow, May 9: Several people were killed a suicide attacker detonated a car bomb near a military base in Russia's southern Dagestan region on Sunday, May 9, a news agency report said.
"According to preliminary information there were fatalities, their number is being established," the official was quoted as saying.
The explosion took place at about 200 meters (yards) from a base housing a brigade of marines in the town of Kaspiysk in the mainly Muslim region of Dagestan, the official said.
However, police were ready for any possible attack in the wake of 65th anniversary of the Soviet victory in World War II on Sunday, May 9.
