iPad international launch slated for May 28

San Francisco, May 8: After making a strong entrance into the US markets, Apple Inc's new tablet PC is set to step into international markets on May 28.

Apple Inc said on Friday, May 7 that it was ready to launch its newest sensation in nine international markets including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and Britain.

The pre-ordering exercise for these markets is set to begin on Monday, May 10.

The international launch of iPads were slated for late Apr 2010. However, there was a delay due to what Apple called 'higher-than-expected demand'.

In the next phase of roll-out, which is set to take place in Jul 2010, Apple aims markets of Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand and Singapore.

Tech junkies in India wonder when the iPad will reach the Asian subcontinent.
